FANARI

On the coastal road between Argostoli and Lassi ονε cannot miss one of the main attractions and trademarks of Argostoli, the Lighthouse of Saint Theodore. Also commonly known as ‘Fanari’, Saint Theodore’s Lighthouse is the perfect spot for watching the sunset, taking romantic pictures or just enjoying the view of Lixouri. It is a unique circular structure, based on 20 white Doric architectural style columns and its tower is 8 m tall. It was built when the British administrator Charles Napier was governor of Kefalonia, in 1828. Destroyed by the earthquake, it was rebuilt in 1964 according to its original architectural design, by Takis Pavlatos, a local architect. Between the watermills of Katavothres and St. Theodores Lighthouse, one may encounter the beach of Fanari. A small, quiet sandy beach close to Argostoli, featuring fine golden sand and warm shallow waters, suitable for children.

KALAMIA BEACH

Positioned at a scenic point where the wild mountain beauty meets the sea’s edge, the Wildt is just minutes away from the azure waters of the sea. Located below the coastal road of Fanari that runs between the Lassi resort area and Argostoli, Kalamia Beach in Kefalonia is a pebble and grey sand-filled shore surrounded by impressively large limestone formations. With beautiful bright turquoise waters and a shallow seabed, this beach is approachable through a rough, steep pathway.

LASSI

Lassi is a beautiful and peaceful area about 1.5 km away from Argostoli – the capital of Kefalonia. Due to its location Lassi is considered as an excellent choice for visitors, since they can enjoy their holidays in one of the most wonderful resorts of Kefalonia, while having easy access to other locations of the island.
